John joined Good & Murray Smith LLP in 2017 and became a Partner in 2018. 

John acts for Irish and UK based insurers, State Bodies and self insured entities. He has a particular expertise in advising insurers in relation to policy disputes and managing claims from an early stage. He has extensive experience of high value personal injury and property damage claims. During his career, he has also acted in cases before the Hepatitis C Tribunal and Garda Compensation Court and in Medical Negligence actions. 

Recent matters include:-

• Advising an Irish company in the defence of a Product Liability claim in the Commercial Court.
• Advising a Local Authority in respect of Data Protection and Freedom of Information law in the context of claims management.
• Defending personal injury claims on behalf of some of Ireland’s largest organisations.
• Advising insurers in relation to contentious policy disputes.

John is also an experienced advocate, having appeared regularly before the Irish Courts at all levels of jurisdiction. Prior to joining Good & Murray Smith LLP, John practiced as a Barrister at the Bar of Ireland.
