AI Intake Assistant Privacy Notice
Controller: Good & Murray Smith LLP
Effective date: 30 October 2026
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This notice explains how the chat assistant on this website handles your information. It supplements the firm's main privacy policy. The controller is Good & Murray Smith LLP, Regus House, Block 4 Harcourt Centre, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2, D02 HW77.
What the assistant is
The chat window on this site is an AI assistant, clearly labelled as such. It is not a solicitor and it does not give legal advice. Its job is to take your contact details and a short account of what you need help with, and to arrange for the right person at the firm to call you back. The full details of your case belong in a conversation with a solicitor.
What it collects
The assistant asks for your name, phone number, email address, and a short description of what you need help with. It also records the conversation itself so the solicitor who calls you back knows what you asked. From the conversation it prepares a short summary for the solicitor, including any dates that matter, how urgent the matter seems and the tone of the conversation, and the firm's dashboard gives an early view of how strong the enquiry looks so the firm knows which calls to return first. The same AI service that writes the assistant's replies prepares this summary. The page you were reading when you opened the chat is noted, and so are the pages of this site you visit after you start using the assistant, the website or search that brought you here, and any campaign tags in the web address, which helps the firm understand which information on its website people find useful. With your enquiry, the website also keeps your device's internet address and the identification string your browser sends about itself, so that spam and misuse can be checked. A security check from a specialist provider runs to confirm you are a person and not an automated system.
What happens to it
Your enquiry goes directly to Good & Murray Smith's secure dashboard, where a solicitor reads it and decides what happens next, and a copy is emailed to the firm. No decision about you is ever made by software. The assistant and the dashboard are operated for the firm by PageMax Digital Limited ("PageMax"), which acts only on the firm's written instructions and keeps its database in the EU. Your enquiry is not shared with anyone else and is never used for marketing or to train AI systems.
Health details
If what you type includes health details, for example about an injury or your medical treatment, Irish law permits a law firm to receive that information in connection with a possible legal claim. It is treated with the same confidentiality as any enquiry to a solicitor.
How long we keep it
What is kept from the chat. Good & Murray Smith keeps the chat to follow up your enquiry and to improve the chat service. If your chat becomes an enquiry, the whole chat is kept with your enquiry. Every chat is also kept with names, phone numbers, email addresses and other details that could identify you removed automatically where they are recognised, and that copy is deleted 30 days after your last message. The removal is automatic, so some details, especially names, can get through. PageMax reads these chats only to make the chat work better. Please do not type anything into the chat that you would not want kept.
If you do not become a client, your enquiry and the chat conversation are deleted after 12 months. If you become a client, your information is kept under the retention rules for client files in the firm's privacy policy.
Where your information is processed
The firm's website database and enquiry records are stored in the European Union. The website's chat assistant writes its replies, and the summary of each enquiry for the firm, using AI models run by specialist providers, largely on infrastructure in the United States, working for the firm's website provider under data-processing agreements, and some of the website provider's email and technical services are based there too. Part of the website provider's platform is hosted elsewhere in Europe, including the United Kingdom, which the European Union recognises as protecting personal data adequately. Transfers to the United States are protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Union's standard contractual clauses, and the AI providers never use what passes through to train AI models. You can ask the firm for a copy of the safeguards for these transfers.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information the firm holds about you at any time: email gms@goodmurraysmith.ie with the subject "Data request". You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact the firm instead of using the chat.
